Ingredients:

  • Bread
  • 1(5-ounce) tin of tuna
  • Salt and pepper
  • ½ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pea, carrot and red pepper

How To Make It

  • Stack two slices of bread and cut out the shapes as shown on the left
  • Drain all liquid from the tuna. In a bowl, use a fork to mix together the tuna and all the ingredients except the veggies
  • Put third of filling in each sandwich, then use veggies to make the eyes and mouth. (We used a pea, carrot, and red pepper.)

Helpful Tip

Use tuna packed in oil. It’s slightly higher in fat than water-picked tuna but has much more flavor. Rest assured, since our recipe doesn’t include mayo, each sandwich has less than 5 grams of fat.
